Mostly male characters for several reasons. I like the faces, the armour and the dances better on most male characters. I dislike the way other players interact with me when I'm on a female character and prefer that random people think I'm a male player. Plus, it makes me laugh every time someone who's heard me on vent/TS puts someone else straight regarding my RL gender and they're all "no wai" about it.
I do have some female characters though. Female warriors look much better than males, female monks look much better than males, and jiggly boob ele dance ftw!

I gender swapped a few of my chars, so now I have as many females as males, simply cause I couldnt stand the look on some, especially male paras, you can either make them look old or as if they just stepped out of a boy band audition.

I use whatever I feel suits the character's class. Roughly evenly mixed overall.

I am male.
I have 11 female characters.
The reason for this is:
I didn't like any of the male facial features or hairstyles.
That and I couldn't make them look the way I wanted body size-wise.

I wish people would play the gender they really are. Otherwise it makes me feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of 13 year old perverts. No offense.
God I'm about to get flamed.

but, but, but, if everyone made their characters RL gender related, there would be like 5% female population, and THAT would look a lot creepier haha. Imagine an outpost filled with 50 males and only 3 females, that would be a wammo's humpfest.
Male here
Warrior = Male ('cause he's beardy like me )
Paragon = female
Assassin= female (love the /dance)
Ranger = female (made her 2006, just keeping her for the gifts and some random mish help)
Monk = female (I just love petite prophecies healbots)
Necro = female (gotta love that vabbian armor)
Another ranger = Male ('cause gf thinks he is a hottie)
Mesmer = female (classy)
Assassin = male (my 5th attemtp to legendary survivor >.<)

Female with all female characters.
I tried playing a male, it just didn't work out for me, although I really like how the male toons look... especially the rangers.

Female with all 10 female characters on my main account.
I also have a second account that I maintain as a mule and to play with but they are mostly male. I rarely use them but it's sometimes fun to play as male.

Female with all female characters. I'm guilty of making them that way so I can dress them up prettily, like barbie dolls. [: Plus, all male chars are ugly, and so are their armor sets.

I am male and have all male characters. However, I have one female pvp monk because I'm such a horrible monk and need to hide my identity when I play one. I'm sure no one will ever associate the toon with me thereby keeping my reputation in tact.

I have never, in my whole memory of gaming, made a male character for any game. It's just that I like to RP a little (even if it's just by myself), build a mindset for my chara, a personality. To do that I need to be able to understand how their thoughts work... and I'd rather go from personal experience than try and figure out what makes the little wheels go inside guys' heads. So each of my girls is an aspect of my personality - Gui is my inner child, Qing is my intellect, Xuta is my wisdom, Jenna my stubborness, etc. It's just easier on me that way.
Also, I hate drawing males.
And anyway, people call me "he" often enough as it is. Making my characters male would only further confuse things.
